Wavemakers – The Centre for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology
CAWST’s Youth Wavemakers is a unique program dedicated to youth. Wavemakers informs, engages, encourages action, and celebrates the impact that youth are having on local and global water issues.
Through various initiatives, Youth Central provides youth the opportunity to volunteer, serve on steering committees, voice their opinions to business leaders and politicians, learn about the diversity in their community, serve on a youth foundation and develop citizenship skills.
Locally, 4-H gives back to the community and creates community leaders. Provincially, there are opportunities for conferences, camps and scholarships. And nationally, 4-H members have the opportunity to see different parts of Canada and the world, apply for scholarships, and participate in some of the country’s longest-running youth conferences.
Rotary's programs for students and youth can change the lives of those who participate. Through these programs, young people can earn scholarships, travel on cultural exchanges, or help a community through a service project.

The Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute is a binational organization that promotes understanding between India and Canada through academic activities and exchanges.
John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights
Named for John Peters Humphrey, the principle drafter of the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the John Humphrey Centre (JHC) was created based on the belief that the struggle for human rights is never conclusively won, requiring continuous need to reinforce these rights. The goal of the JHC is to see the universal implementation of human rights through teaching and education of all people, focusing specifically on children and youth. Using the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as a framework, the Centre seeks for universal recognition, understanding, promotion and protection of human rights, essential to maintaining and advancing peace, ultimately for the purpose of creating an everlasting culture of peace and human rights.
YMCA Calgary staff and volunteers work every day with youth, helping them to grow, thrive, lead and belong. From general fitness to free leadership programs to outreach programs around the city, YMCA works closely with young people to provide guidance and help them realize and achieve their full potential.
French for the Future promotes Canada’s official bilingualism and the immediate and lifelong benefits of learning and communicating in French to students from grades 7 to 12 across Canada.
