SEVEC: A Canadian Heritage Program
To create, promote and facilitate enriching educational opportunities for youth within Canada for the development of mutual respect and understanding through programs of exploration in language, culture, and community.
Locally, 4-H gives back to the community and creates community leaders. Provincially, there are opportunities for conferences, camps and scholarships. And nationally, 4-H members have the opportunity to see different parts of Canada and the world, apply for scholarships, and participate in some of the country’s longest-running youth conferences.
The YMCA Summer Work Student Exchange is a unique national exchange program that brings together youth from various communities across the country.
Canada Sports Friendship Exchange Programs
The Canada Sports Exchange Programs organizes reciprocal cultural exchanges, involving Francophone and Anglophone youth across Canada. The aims and goals are to promote friendship, respect and better understanding of each other's language and culture.
Rotary's programs for students and youth can change the lives of those who participate. Through these programs, young people can earn scholarships, travel on cultural exchanges, or help a community through a service project.

On October 3rd, 2003, the French and Canadian governments signed an agreement concerning youth exchange programs.
Youth For Understanding (YFU) is a worldwide movement of committed individuals and organizations working together to prepare young people for their responsibilities and challenges in a changing, interdependent global community.
This program is aimed at Canadian citizens between 18 and 30 years. A fixed number of persons per calendar year can obtain a work and residence permit for a maximum of 12 months.
Through its various programs—including The Forum for Young Canadians, its flagship program—The Foundation provides youth, ages 15 – 19, with first-hand access to the minds, the procedures and the energy of Parliament Hill.

It’s about getting inside—deep inside—Canadian politics and public affairs and seeing what running the country looks like up close.Encounters with Canada is our country’s largest and foremost youth forum! Every week of the school year, 120 to 148 teens from across Canada (ages 14 to 17) come to Ottawa. Here they discover their country through each other, learn about Canadian institutions, meet famous and accomplished Canadians, explore exciting career options, develop their civic leadership skills and live an extraordinary bilingual experience.
This group reciprocal exchange program is designed for groups of 10 to 30 participants between the ages of 12 and 17. Participants are twinned with same-age groups from another province or territory, and they take turns staying in each other's communities for at least five days.
